Two voices

Me (after having bumped into my desk chair with my toe): Why does this chair have wheels anyway?

Me (in high pitched voice): Because you can ride around in it, that's why!

P. (puzzled): That wasn't an impersonation of me. That was your own alter ego.

Me: You can actually hear the difference between me imitating you and me saying out loud what goes through my head?

P.: Yes. Your voice is accusing; I sound like a whiny brat.
