Singing class #2
Sep. 20th, 2005 10:26 pmLike a six-year-old getting a compliment for her faultless reading, she smiles when her teacher says something nice about her singing and her voice. She tilts her head ever so slightly, letting her curls fall in front of her eyes. Her gaze darts across the room and decides to settle on the floor. There's a shy six-year-old standing right next to the piano. At least she thinks there is. She can't see it, but it feels like that when the teacher gushes over her almost faultless singing.

Date: 2005-09-20 01:44 pm (UTC)My PsychProf is forever trying to help me find that little girl inside myself.
He says there's no other love in the world like the love you feel for that child inside yourself, and there's nothing more powerful than touching that inner child.
So happy to see you have her close to you.

Date: 2005-09-20 01:53 pm (UTC)Like the great Morrissey sings: "Shyness is nice, but shyness can stop you from doing all the things in life you'd like to."
I don't really know if I truely feel like my inner child. I thought it a nice comparison.
Now I've been thinking it through, and yes, I believe getting compliments like these make me feel like a little kid again, because it's the genre of compliment you'd get when you were a kid. So it isn't that strange I get the shy smile on my face and almost blush. I'm still a kid somewhere. Always have been. (Please buy me Lego... ;-) )
