I have installed iTunes 5.0. It looks purty, makes it easier to search your libraries (Easier to search your libraries: who would've thought it possible?), and as far as I see there's a nice plugin with QuickTime to watch videos. Why aren't you all using a Mac again?

Now all I need to be completely settled, is one of those fancy iPod nanos. The thing's as big as a credit card and has the storage space of an iPod mini. Yes, you read that correctly: a credit card! (Okay, it's a bit thicker than one, but still I want. And there goes that mantra again: "You don't need this." Thank you sensible side of me.)

For the first time since I bought this computer almost a year ago I checked out GarageBand, a music mixing tool, part of iLife. I never thought much about it. Why would I need to mix my own tunes? I'm very non-creative when it comes to music. (I am guilty of writing silly songs when I was 16. Luckily I gave that up before I took myself too serious and started torturing other people's ears.) I do know how to read page music and had the wonderful idea to enroll for a singing class this year (yes, I hear the neighbours complaining already, don't worry). Now GarageBand gives me the opportunity to record my voice and bloody well check if I'm not singing out of key, because that's the horrible thing with singing, isn't it? When you play an instrument, you can hardly play out of key because you just have to put your fingers on the right places, but when you sing you need to learn how far the notes are actually apart. We'll see. First class is on Monday. I'll keep you updated.

I have this wry taste in my mouth. This post comes straight after the "Being Poor"-post. It doesn't really belong there.
