Newspapers are filled with it: Mr. George W. Bush is coming to Brussels next week. Most of the roads will be blocked on Monday and Tuesday. Busses, trams and metros won't ride on their normal schedule. Did I mention that when you draw a straight line from the European Union buildings to NATO it goes through my apartment? The joy. Thankfully I don't have to work on Tuesdays.

Yep, I'll be glad when he's gone! They even close the park in front of the royal palace. It's best not to go anywhere near the city centre and when you really have to not take the car. The bus will get you there eventually, but with a bit of a roundabout. Most of the European tops are held in Brussels nowadays, so I'm kind of used to it. Safety measures aren't as big then as with Mr. Bush, though! And I like to bitch about it: Why would they get better treatment than we, huh? ;-)
