We use our landline phones' ability to call internally. When the boy had just started to speak, there was this ritual of him calling his Dad just before going to bed to ask him to make a goodnight drink of milk. That was very very cute. There was this one time when I'd told him beforehand that you say "Tschüss" at the end of a phonecall and then he forgot or his Dad was too fast for him and had already terminated the call and I had a very distraught kid on my hands because he hadn't said goodbye properly.
