In German we say that when the relationship progresses the animals that we use as names for each other keep getting bigger: from Maus to Kamel, from Bärchen to Ochse.. with the bigger animals of course not being terms of endearment but rather of annoyance!
In general: not a lot of food nicknames in German.

There are a lot of endearments in Flemish that have a sexual connotation as well...
