Can I please teach another subject? Preferably one that's important, like maths. The kids agree. They started a boycot and some playful actions, like throwing crayons through the classroom and laughing behind the teacher's back, to make their point clear. They demand only important, difficult and uninteresting lessons. So, what do you say? Starting tomorrow two extra hours of science in every class I teach?

If you seriously want to teach another subject, wouldn't that be possible? How lengthy would the re-training be?

I always think it's better to do what you really want to do, rather than just tolerate things as they are. But of course there are financial costs etc. to think about....

Well, if I would really consider switching to science, that would mean going back to uni for four years and prolly do some extra courses of my teacher's training.

I actually love teaching my subject. I talk about science, literature, film, tv... but it's one of those little subjects the kids aren't very much interested in. It's "only" morality. It doesn't matter if you get good grades or bad grades. So every once in a while I dream about teaching a very hard subject that students consider very important for their future and their grades. ;-)
