One step at a time...
Feb. 28th, 2011 09:25 pmThe amniocentesis went okay today. The preparation to make sure every piece of equipment is sterile, was more impressive than getting stung with a giant needle in my tiny belly. It doesn't feel worse than drawing blood. Baby is a little wriggly bugger, who doesn't like to keep still to get his/her measurements taken. I've got no indication on gender whatsoever. We'll get the first results of today's test by the end of the week or early next week, when they've made a kariotype. There won't be any doubt about gender after that.
Although I'm feeling well, I am glad I don't have to go into work tomorrow and the day after. The little ones tend to crush someone when showing affection. I think bump wouldn't agree with that.

The procedure still sounds terrifying.
I hope you got some rest and relaxation in today.

Date: 2011-03-01 09:37 pm (UTC)I did some housework today, but considered today (and tomorrow) as extra days off before the real break next week. I felt okay enough to go to school, but was glad I didn't have to go. The okay feeling might have been caused by being able to stay at home.
It sounds more terrifying than it is. And all the diagrams you find are equally gross, because the needle is way thinner than as show on the drawing. They warned me for cramps, but I didn't get any -- might be because I was lying down on the sofa for most of the afternoon.
