My spare time gets eaten up by washing and ironing. In that light I'm not looking forward to #2, who'll only add to the pile of filthy clothes in the laundry basket.

Date: 2011-01-30 04:18 pm (UTC)I don't mind the ironing and washing so much as you can do that with a baby underfoot. We completely fail on the cleaning. Vacuuming is just about possible, tidying is difficult (also down to a lack of storage space - space we've got, just lacking in shelf-space/furniture). I don't know how proper housewives do it...

Sometimes I wonder how I did it last year, when I was on my own most of the time. I wasn't pregnant then though, and could survive on too little sleep each night.

Date: 2011-01-31 05:07 pm (UTC)He loves "helping", too, and he gets quite close to the ironing board, but he usually takes some clothes from the basket and 'folds' and 'irons' them on his own 'ironing board' which is actually one of those small mini-ironing boards that you can use to iron sleeves on - Ärmelbrett in German.
One has to be very careful - hands on the iron at most times preferably, but it's doable.
