Like I haven't been gone.
Aug. 30th, 2010 08:06 pmThis morning was filled with meetings. I rode from one school to the other on the underground and learned nothing new or important, to return home with a beginning headache from sitting in a room with little oxygen for too long.
I miss the pupils and the bustle and hustle of school bags, feet on the stairs and children laughing behind my back. Because there are more hours than I can teach I'll have brand new classes, and old ones I'll have to say goodbye to. After three or four years of teaching I'll have to hand over classes to someone else who hasn't arrived yet. It always feels like I'm abandoning them.

Date: 2010-08-31 07:55 pm (UTC)I had both worlds yesterday - seemingly endless meetings and half a day with my pupils, who have transformed into sullen teenagers.
Today was a little better - the sunshine and blue skies helped after we had the most miserable cold and wet weather yesterday.
Have a good 'real' start tomorrow! (And thanks for the little something on my profile page.)
