Google Reader

franceslievensSince January 2010 I haven't posted much in way of text. And before that I didn't post much at all. Being busy was the reason I always came up with, and the age-old adage (as old as blogging anyway) that the less frequent you post, the less inclined to post you get. Less posting from me, doesn't mean I'm off the internet-grid though. I still do a ton of reading (at least in my opinion, when compared to others I read like a slug), and lots of the reading gets "flagged" or "starred" to use for further reference. Alas, the further reference never happens, and I simply have an equal big amount of links stashed in my starred items on Google Reader.
These days I can't claim I'm too busy. I'm on parental leave, and Little Bit still does lots of sleeping: up around 7:30, naptime between 1 and 3pm (around those hours at least – right now she's hobbling through the living room, very awake, very tired, and very not wanting to go to bed), bedtime at 7pm. So I took some time to integrate Google Reader in my LiveJournal page, making a Google Profile in the process and expanding the on line presence of Frances Lievens a bit further.
So ultimately what did I do? Google Reader's shared items are public already, but you won't find anything on there. Because I use NetNewsWire for reading feeds, I can't share anything, but I can flag it, which shows up in the starred items folder. By making this one public, you can follow which blog posts have piqued my interest and have been an interesting read. Unfortunately I can't add a little note, but having more time on my hands this might actually lead to me writing things about what I read.
