See the year fly by...
Dec. 30th, 2009 11:08 pmNot only am I at a loss where my two weeks break went, but 2009 is gone as well, and I have no idea what happened during those twelve months. Luckily there's the year overview to jog my memory. Some people even say it'll be a new decade (those people can't count, but whatever) and we get overviews of the last ten years. I won't bore you with those. Let me just do a quick recap of last week.
Christmas happened and went away again. It was kind of boring. Little Bit is all the entertainment the in-laws need. P. and I can only sit and watch in amazement at how boring it is to watch grandparents having fun with a one year old. I did have fun with my new camera. The money that paid for it was a gift.
The days after Christmas I had trouble finding my holiday spirit. I seemed to have work, but not really. I was supposed to have fun and relax, but I couldn't get the hang of it. I blame the train fiasco for getting on my nerves and I wasn't really able to shake that vibe. Though on Sunday we had great fun with Big Sis and the nieces. Yesterday we went to visit friends in Ghent. Little Bit showed us on those two occasions how assertive she really is. She sees someone playing with something she wants and immediately moves to take it. The outcome was two times the same: one baffled kid with empty hands crying to her or his mama. LB looks at the scene with a straight face. She's done nothing wrong, right?

Date: 2009-12-31 09:38 pm (UTC)We realized this Christmas that with the arrival of a grandchild we've become unimportant to our parents. The customary envelopes with cash to spend were addressed "For the mum/dad of Mini-Mäuschen". Gone are the days when we were the centre of attention - which was hard for K, because this year his birthday was ignored even more than usual. (Not complaining, just observing - it's only natural.)
Yay for new camera. I'm thinking about doing a photo a day (or week) in 2010. Care to join in?

Date: 2010-01-02 03:21 pm (UTC)I've decided to aim for a weekly weekend photo post - with moving, school and the little one I don't think I could keep up a daily post.
And thanks for your card which arrived today!
