Caffè Nero
Nov. 5th, 2009 12:56 pmCaffè Nero is one of the few chains where I like to sit and have coffee. I have an aversion towards Starbucks and think their coffee is downright disgusting. The atmosphere borders in that found in a fastfood restaurant. Caffè Nero lets you enjoy your coffee. There's always a bustle with students working on papers, typing away on their laptops. Little Bit likes it too. With wonderment she gazes at all the people getting up, drinking coffee, eating cake, working... Especially the high chairs are a hit, since she can almost turn 180° in them. Oops. But it's a great conversation starter when two tables further two elderly ladies get up to leave. They're both startled by the blank stare LB gives them. "I don't know what we did wrong, but we get this intense stare," she says. I smile apologetically and think that the simple act of getting up can cause that reaction in my daughter. She isn't one for the talking or the doing what the others do, but she will have seen everything that there is to see and she'll notice the slightest movement and difference. Sometimes people call her serious when she does that, but I think she's observant.
