The joys of maturity...
Oct. 28th, 2009 10:56 pmNumber one: People I went to school with will be attending a school reunion and are communicating about it by email. Every mail they send also ends up in my mailbox, even though I have never replied to the first one that went out. They just keep on hitting "reply all". I might not have the greatest job of them all, but at least I can silently snicker at the fact they don't quite understand the extent of their actions.
Number two: When we have a lunch date with a group of people with kids that all need to sleep in the afternoon, we decide not to bring our Li'l Bit. Her travel cot sits at P.'s parent's place. Stopping there to drop LB off or the take the cot along is the same thing. Now we get an email asking to bring all children so we can go to the playground. In the rain. And then have sandwiches for dinner as well. Frankly, we've got better things to do on a Saturday afternoon then spend time babysitting other person's children. We're leaving for Oxford again on Monday. Shops are closed on Sunday. You get the jist.

Date: 2009-10-30 06:39 pm (UTC)The plan for my primary school reunion didn't even get to the email stage. I got a phone call about it in March or so - the guy 'organizing' it wanted to do it late Aug/early Sep, and he was in the process of contacting everyone. When I volunteered my email address, he was quite taken with the idea of using electronic mail as a means of keeping in contact... It hadn't occurred to him that email addresses might be useful...
I haven't heard from him since!
Wishing you a speedy and safe journey to Oxford. Is it a short stay this time?
