Singing class did not go well today. The aria I'm currently singing ends on a high B, and it never feels quite right. I can't reach it, or I'm too tired after having sung the whole damn thing. It's too loud, or not loud enough. The notes scare me. I'm convinced I'll never get it right, but my teacher wants me to sing it at a concert in January. She's very confident it'll work out. I on the other hand am quite certain I'll make a horrendous fool of myself.

Date: 2009-10-23 02:50 pm (UTC)I'm starting to believe that self-doubt is a necessary part of the learning process. Can't say I like it, but it seems to turn up whenever I don't instantly know how to do something new.
Your teacher knows you and I bet she's right.

But if I manage, I'll ask someone to make a recording, so I can share.
