Homesick

Yesterday I thought "I wanna go home". This feeling in my gut made me hate this whole arrangement with P. over here working and me just hanging around taking care of Little Bit. I want to do things, but get stuck between making food and nap time. Going out with the stroller means lugging L.B. downstairs in her car seat, putting it down, getting the stroller out of the car, getting L.B. out of the car seat and into the stroller, putting the car seat in the car, closing the car, and then we're off. If I forget the car keys I can lug L.B. back upstairs. Which I did yesterday. At home I just put her in the stroller, take the lift and we're off.
After all the hassle we walk to the bus stop, where I wait some time, because I've just missed a bus. It arrives. I want to put the stroller on the bus and I get this: "Sorry, can't take you along. There's already a stroller on." Can I go WTF now? These busses literally only take one stroller, because there's only room for one. The rest are all seats. Busses in Brussels have less seats, more place for standing up, and more place for strollers. There's only one space when you get on in the front, but if that's taken, or there's a lot of people on the bus, the driver will let you get on at the back. But in Oxford half filled busses drive past, because there ain't no room for a stroller.

*hugs*

Oxford public transport sounds frustrating. Even on the smaller buses here there's room for two strollers.

How do you feel about taking the car somewhere? It's no good for the town centre I suppose, but maybe there are some other places you could go.

P. has done all the driving till now. I think I can manage driving somewhere, but there ain't much to go to. Talk about the Middle of Nowhere, Oxford is it. It's surrounded by countryside. Best thing to do, is go for a walk.

The public transport is pretty good actually, apart from the whole stroller thing and the bus drivers being so strict on that rule (if the strollers are positioned differently you can place two, but bus drivers hardly ever let you put the stroller that way). Going to the centre with the car isn't really an option: no parking space or paying for it.
