[livejournal.com profile] frances_lievens is well aware that her default icon might be a bit too wintery for the time of year.

But if we stare at it long enough, the power of our minds might help us cool down.

(The worst of the heatwave seems to be over here, but I don't expect snow in the next couple of days. There has been hail though not far from here:

We had a good rain late in the afternoon. It prompted me to change my Facebook-status into an old children's song: "Het regent! Het zegent! De pannekes worden nat." Though it weren't the roof tiles that got wet, but the bedroom, because the window was open.

Again, it seems we have a similar song and I sang it just the other day when the rain started: "Es regnet, Gott segnet, die Erde wird nass."

It's a nice 21.7° C now outside and the sky is still blue and the sun is shining, so I'm happy with that. The picture of the dog cooling down on a bed of hail was taken last Friday slightly to the north of here. We avoided the hail, just got a load of water from up above.

Do say it ends with two farm women falling on their respective behinds! Patat!" (and then you go and sit on the floor).

I only remembered those first two/three lines and had to research the other bits. Apparently the Gott segnet is optional - must have been my Catholic kindergarten.

No farmers' wives, just growing grass. Here's one version:
