L., who got hit by a car recently, is doing remarkably well after only a bit more than two weeks. She's still in hospital, where I went to visit her today. She's her playful and laughing self, seeing the good side of spending time in hospital: "Hey, at least I don't have to work for school!" Since today she's allowed to sit up as long as it doesn't hurt. This means she explores the buttons on her bed and sits up for a couple of minutes before lying down again. If the burns on her chest are healing well, she might even go home on Friday. L. is really looking forward to that. As did her dad. They both agreed it would be great if she could sit outside. We were already plotting escape plans for tomorrow, when she might try a wheelchair. I'm so glad she'll sit in my class again in September.
