Our darling Little Bit is going to daycare for an hour every day this week, so she can learn to know the people there and it isn't such a new thing when she'll go full-time after the break. She's grown so much already and learned so many new things. Every accomplishment rushes past. I really need to stop and take note or everything will be gone in a huff and she'll be all grown up before I noticed.

She's such a sweet and silent kid. I wonder where I deserved someone like that. Or maybe she's got two equally quiet parents who provide her with an environment where there is no need to be all wound up. Does a calm environment make calm children? I don't know, but still everyone at the daycare tells us how sweet she's been the last couple of days. Where the other girl who came to get acquainted with the daycare cried for an hour, Little Bit played with the other kids just milling around her. She'll like it there.

She probably will like it there. Am I imagining it or does it sound a little bit (pun unintended!) like you're trying to convince yourself? It must be hard to let her go, even if it is only for an hour each day.

Sweet and silent sounds very much like how I would have pictured your child to be. :)

Learning to let go is a big part of raising kids.

It wasn't intentional, but I guess I must have been trying to convince myself it is okay to let her go. Yeah, after having had her around for four months, it's pretty weird when she's not there for an hour.
