I bought a 2009 diary with notebook just so I could write these things down, but apparently I prefer doing this from memory.

They usually have a solemn look on their faces, those people reading a book while travelling on public transport. Reading asks for their complete concentration, so they can filter out crying toddlers, noisy teens, and stinky drunkards. Books are a serious business, especially for the veiled women reading the Koran.
But not for him. An amused smile creeps over his face while he reads page after page in his pocket book. From where I'm standing I try to find out the source of his amusement. I can't make out the title of the book, but it must be a good one.

Heh, it's probably me!

(The big shift in the Metro lines for next month doesn't actually look very significant to me. Hype rather than substance, I feel.)

The shift isn't that big, no, but the quicker trip from where I live to Gare du Midi is so well worth it! And I had to chang trains at Beekkant for the last two days, which is less silly than waiting for the train to turn around.

(nice icon btw)

Lovely observation. And I've laughed out loud on public transport a couple of times because of a funny line in a book.
