I have rediscovered the common truth that people tell stories to make sense of this world. It must be the easiest and fastest way to store knowledge in your brain. When we remember, we remember a story. It possibly gets changed through remembering, but the core remains the same. The fact will in our mind stay a fact – or that's what we think should be the case. Can we remember non-facts? Do we, indeed, make up too much stories? I was wondering about this and since the American presidential elections a longer post has been brewing in my head. It's a post about the need for stories, but also the possible difficulties attached to them and why it is vital to know we are only telling stories.
