Ultrasound

The second ultrasound didn't show anything extra-ordinary this morning – even though I find it quite extra-ordinary to be able to view that little baby on the screen. All the measurements were okay for a foetus of 20 weeks old. She's* right on track.

*Gynaecologist thinks it's a she. Of course thinking isn't the same as being sure.

Aw. I remember what a fantastic feeling that was and how it just knocks you back and blows your mind. Yea - I'm glad everything looks great.

The first u/s was really something. My pregnancy wasn't visible and I was still convinced everything would go wrong, but suddenly there it was: a little baby with arms and feet and a heartbeat.

Now I've also got the bump and clothes that don't quite fit to show it.

Well, this is about as sure as it gets in finding out. ;-) They'll never say they know the sex for certain. So for us it's a girl.

I'm only halfway in my pregnancy, so best keep the little somethings at your place a little longer. We don't want to jinx this! ;-)

Of course...I was going to wait til at least 30-something weeks!!! Just never know if you'll know more for sure after another ultrasound, you never know.

We might know for sure after the last ultrasound (around 30 weeks), but it's possible the baby lies in a position then where you can't see a thing.

I'll keep you posted anyway!

But the two babies I visited in June were both boys!

It's quite funny how the gynaecologist said "I think it's a girl" with the stress on "think". They really don't want to be caught saying they're sure (because in fact they can be wrong).

It's quite the girly family on my side: My mother has two sisters, Big Sis and I are only grandchildren on that side of the family, and Big Sis has two girls already. One would start to think we can't produce sons -- weren't it for the fact that the male is responsible for that anyway. ;-)

It's cool! I didn't recognize all the Rock icons though.

I'd like to bring it to India with me, it would make a cool beach bag, but I checked the weather today and it isn't good.

I didn't either. They also had buttons, but because I couldn't recognise who was on them, I didn't buy them.

Actually the bag is part of the merchandising for this exhibition (http://www.bozar.be/activity.php?id=8199&) featuring visual art by rock&roll artists. All the rock icons featured on the bag are part of exhibition.

I haven't seen the exhibit, but I loved the merchandise.

I'm glad to. Had a regular gynaecologist appointment this morning, and again she stressed everything was looking good.
