Training day
May. 28th, 2008 05:44 pmWe travelled along the canal on a boat, got good food, and oh yeah, in between there was some incomprehensible chatter about vision and school concept. Maybe the assembled teachers did indeed manage to externalise their views on teaching and the school, but I did have the feeling we were only muddling along.

When the local government stopped the teachers from going on a "teachers' trip" once a year, usually to some not-so-nearby city with cultural significance and lots of restaurants, some schools became creative with their training days. I once attended a training day which on paper was about getting the kids to do more physical activities, but actually consisted of the teachers doing the activities - there was a choice of canoeing, cycling and rollerblading - and then we had a huge picknick afterwards.
