I saw the most gorgeous shoes yesterday: A heel that's not too high, open at the back, closed at the toe, a little strap across the foot, coloured turquoise, perfect to go with that new black wrap-around dress. I loved them. They were expensive, but did fit in my shoe budget (I prefer buying expensive shoes I can wear for several years, rather than cheaper shoes that are worn out after one season). Now the question is: Do I need new summery shoes?

When even the guys say yes, I really should go out and buy them. How convenient I've got a hairdresser's appointment on Thursday just across te street of the shoe store.

If they're still lurking around in your mind a few days after you didn't buy them, then I would go back and buy them. That usually helps me differentiate between things that I like and things that I really want.

Besides if they fit your budget and you know you'll wear them, then it sounds like a good investment.
