This is what the voting public of the Flemish public network thought best to send to Belgrade: Ishtar.
This means they chose nonsense-folk over a soul diva and a punk band.

Date: 2008-03-10 07:24 pm (UTC)It's tradition that the Flemish and Francophone public networks alternate in sending a contestant. In the past this meant that one year we'd sent a Dutch song, and one year a French one. Now it just means that one year the VRT does the preselection process and one year the RTBF. You could vote by phone or SMS, so Wallons could vote as well. They just needed to watch the show on the Flemish network to know for whom to vote.

Date: 2008-03-10 07:59 pm (UTC)The program over here wasn't too long and I watched for the Paranoiacs. It sounded like a joke when they ended up in the preselections (this show is in fact a sort of talent contest in search of the best song for Belgrade in this case). And then this punk band makes it into the finals, so I had to watch it.
