Half empty drawers
Feb. 5th, 2008 01:38 pmI just sealed up a plastic bag filled with shirts and tees I no longer wear. It must be the very first time I get rid of such a big pile of them. I used to be too sentimental about clothes to be able to let go of them when they weren't completely worn out (I never had any trouble throwing knickers with holes in them in the bin). With an overflowing drawer preventing me from buying nice new things, I really had to invest the ten minutes it took me to sift through everything. The very first blouse I put aside, I had bought in my first year at uni. That's ten years ago. It really was time for the parting of our ways.

Date: 2008-02-05 03:13 pm (UTC)I've got clothes I bought when I was still in school. They're not really fit to be worn in public, but they're great for hanging out at home. And it's not like I don't throw anything out either.
I'm going shopping on Saturday. I think I need lots of shoes. And pretty things. And a new bag. Can you see I'm looking forward to it?

Date: 2008-02-05 05:40 pm (UTC)Been doing lots of shopping this afternoon. Got 4 new tees, a skirt and a sweater that was only half its original pric, but still very expensive. Oops. Also got a CD with classical music (including the aria I'm currently working on), a new bin for the toilet (one of those expensive bins from Brabantia (http://www.brabantia.com/), but they're the best), and some random office supplies I was in need of. Yep, I've been doing the capitalist thing today.
