P. is trying to turn his faithful Panther into a Leopard. At the moment he's redoing the installation proces, since there have been flaws. Human flaws: just some things you better do differently or it'll all end up a big mess*. Big plus of the reinstallation process is he will detect certain problems I won't have when it's my turn to become a Leopard. At least now I know it'll take me a day to install everything, get the system up and running the way I like it and check out all the new features. You think that's a lot for an operating system that should work perfect when it comes out of the box (at least that's what they say on those dreaded "Hi I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC"-commercials)? Like with every upgrade getting your documents back where thy came from and looking for latest versions of all the software you used takes time and effort. I'll keep you posted on how many times my system collapses before it's adjusted to my needs and preferences.
*Like any other Personal Computing System Macs do tend to get messy when you aren't paying attention and clean up after yourself.
