Falling Down
Oct. 15th, 2007 09:31 pmIt is easy.
Like flirting you nod, toss your hair, and throw them a bedazzling wide smile. White teeth reflecting the light, blind their eyes. When you pass, they let you step up and move forward. In your stride it only needs one well placed, high heeled foot, to make them stumble and go down.
Obviously, it is that easy.
She doesn’t really register which body drops down when she steps on the moving walkway. She only hears the low thud of a body hitting the floor, the piercing yells of someone being pulled into the rolling mechanism. People race past her in the opposite direction. A voice yells orders, but is quickly droned out by shrieks and cries. She imagines entangled hair and blood, while she speeds on twice as fast as an ordinary pedestrian. No-one will notice the mass of brown curly hair. He’ll only remember white teeth and falling over his trolley.
