For every person of my readership who has something to do with educating others: Have a nice International Teacher Day today. I'm celebrating mine with a day off from school.

Teacher Day really?

I must celebrate it as well. I shall avoid Marking Hell today!

I've been extremely lazy this morning but I have errands to run and I'm planning some cinema session later in the afternoon.

PS:I bought BSG season 3 dvd's yesterday!

BSG season 2 arrived a couple of days ago!

Also been extremely lazy. So far done nothing but hang around. I bought the three "His Dark Materials" novels by Philip Pullman and have been engrossed in those since Saturday. Reading book two now, and they're quite fun to read (apart from the tiny parts where he's a bit too pedantic for my tastes, but it are children's books after all).

Forgot to tell you that both "The Rotter's Club" and "The Closed Circle" arrived yesterday too.

I'm currently reading "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oakes.

My sister is reading Jonathan Coe's latest, which is a breach with his usual style. So far she seemed to have liked it.

I must admit I've never heard of Joyce Carol Oakes. :-( (Although "The Falls" makes some distant bells ring.)

Oates not Oakes, sorry for the typo!

Oates doesn't ring a bell either, but I'll look into it. :-)

I shall celebrate by doing some more marking - the holidays are nearly over and I've still got about 60 tests to get through...

Well, I managed to read the paper this morning and have been doing a bit of wandering through the internet, so I'm not really complaining.

Have a nice Teacher Day, too!

All of you educators, of course!

I'm about to start doing some teacherly things, as in preparing classes. This on a Friday evening. Strange, but I did have the day off and have suddenly an idea for the theme I'll be starting to work on in second grade next week.
