Butter Cookies, Frances' Style
Aug. 15th, 2007 05:17 pmNeeded: 120g soft butter, 120g of sugar, 1 egg, 200g of flower flour, 1 3yo in possession of the Miffy Baking Set.
- Adorn 3yo with Miffy apron and Miffy chef's cap.
- Put butter and sugar in bowl. Let 3yo stir them together.
- Break egg. Let 3yo mix it with butter and sugar.
- Put flour in Miffy flour-shaker so 3yo can sieve it into butter-sugar-egg-mixture.
- Notice Miffy flour-shaker needs a bit more shaking power before it'll work.
- Do the sieving in 3yo's stead.
- Let 3yo stir everything together.
- Do some additional stirring to get a smooth dough (add flour if too smooth).
- Put dough on table covered with baking paper.
- Roll dough till it's 0.5cm thick.
- Let 3yo have a go at rolling.
- Make cookies with push-out figures.
- Put cookies on baking tray.
- Put in oven at 180°C until brown (10 to 25 min).
The thin, crunchy cookies cool off pretty quickly, so don't wait too long to have a taste. Plus they're all for you. 3yo likes to bake cookies, but seeing them finished will decide against tasting. Enjoy!
