Work Ethics
Aug. 2nd, 2007 11:02 pm"You guys probably wonder what I'm doing, right?" the black man asks when throwing sand on the platform. We both nod. "Well, see all that tar here? That's from treating the wood. It's actualy inside the wood and when it's 95 degrees like today, it comes out. I throw sand on it, so you won't stick to the platform. You wouldn't want that now, would you?" We smile and nod in apprehension. The black man slouches off again, to throw some sand on the tar creeping out of the wood at the other side of the platform, constantly reminding his colleagues who are shielding themselves from the blazing sun, that he's the only one doing any work on this day. You wouldn't want to do any work when it's 95 degrees out, right?
