5 questions meme
Jul. 18th, 2007 10:11 am1. If you had to give up one of your languages, which one would you abandon?
Sorry interviewing person, but it would probably be my rudimentary knowledge of German. I guess because it's in fact the language I know the least of and don't need on a daily basis.
2. A place of great natural beauty that you enjoyed?
Cap-de-Bon-Désir, where you can watch whales swimming up the Saint-Lawrence river in Québec. It was so impressive, even though there were lots of tourists around us and we forgot our binoculars.
3. Can you remember your first day at school? How was it?
No, can't remember it one bit. I did what they call "spring school" over here. It's the group of the littlest kids right before their first year. The classes only start after Spring break, hence are called "spring school". I was 2 and a half then. I can't remember a thing of what we did there or what it was like. I only know about it, because I was told. I can't remember the subsequent first of September either. I do remember being scared of my teacher. I liked her. But I was also scared of her.
4. Tell me about your favourite pair of shoes.
Every pair of Campers I own or have owned. They're comfortable, stylish and you don't see too many other people walking around in them (probably because they're expensive and the ones I choose to wear are a bit catchy). The first pair I owned were a pair of trainers in orange and brown. Then I got a pair of high-heeled sandals that I still wear. There was also a pair of orange-brown half-boots. Last year I got a pair of black ballerinas. In the Winter sales I bought high heeled boots in black suede with flowers stitched on them. The last pair I bought two weeks ago: creme trainers with an elastic band instead of laces. They're from the Peu line (with coconut inner sole) and you can see them on the homepage I think.
5. What's in your wallet/purse?
Tickets for public transport in Berlin (I'm gonna throw those out), a Belgian city that isn't Brussels, also one for Brussels. A card from a certain Café Musical. Some photographs (me, sis, grandmother, but mostly me). More business cards. A train ticket that's only valuable until August 3. I really should be going somewhere before I go on holiday. My ID-card, driver's licence, and vaccination card. A poem dated 22/02/95. And last but not least €15,72 (one coin from Luxemburg, one from the Netherlands, the others are Belgian).
I've also got another little purse that holds my debet cards, library cards etc.
Anyone who is bored and wants to answer my questions can say so in a comment.

Date: 2007-07-19 10:56 am (UTC)2) Work was boring which is why I'm marking placement reports at home today. This really is the deathly dull period at university. No students and a lot of the staff are on holiday.
3) I would love to have a cat as a pet. They are such fun. And so independent to boot.
4) It would be a toss up between Heidi or Mutya. Heidi has the smiley blonde thing going on and Mutya always looks moody and sullen.
5) I rarely lecture most of my teaching is in labs but when I do lecture I make the effort to look smart i.e casual smart trousers and a shirt. Otherwise jeans and t-shirt. If it's winter, jeans, t-shirt and a jumper. I'm really not much of a fashion person.

Date: 2007-07-19 01:11 pm (UTC)Same here at uni. I went to pick P. up last week and I think he was the only one in the office in the entire building. Apart from some secretaries who had to do ... err ... what secretaries do at the end of term.
Yay catperson! You could always do as me and buy a paper substitute (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cat-Getting-Out-Other-Observations/dp/0811858227/ref=sr_1_1/203-2601091-4322312?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1182018175&sr=1-1). ;-)
