Election Fever

There's a bustle on election Sunday. People walking to the polling station and returning, meeting each other, gossiping. The line was non-existent, so I could go in, vote, and come out again. My date for the afternoon to keep me from watching the Big Election Show on the television messaged off with a migraine. P. is out on civic duty. He got claimed to man the polling station. So this afternoon it's only me, the housechores, and the television.

Our Big Election Show doesn't start before the evening here.

I haven't gone to the polling station yet. I wonder if there will be queueing like for the Presidentials...

Well, they probably will be giving some ecit polls, and since we vote electronicaly the first numbers will be out when the first polling stations with computers close, that's at three (or a bit later).

I checked the newspaper and they start at 12. I want to watch because my favourite journalist is back for the show after having battled breast cancer. I missed her hard lined interviews during this campaign. It was all so very tame.

I didn't go too early. P. sent me a message at 8:30 saying they hadn't been able to start up one computer. At 10:00 I got a second message telling me the line was gone.

Waiting for the results of Herstap. Traditionally, they are first in :) - only 81 inhabitants. Or is it per kanton in these elections?

They might come first again. The first results are always partial (100 bureaus of 120 counted etc.) If I'm not mistaken it's the electronic votes that don't come partial, because they're all counted and processed immediately.

They come in per kanton though I guess. So I've got no idea if Herstap will be mentioned.
