The monthly illness (as Anaïs Nin puts it) can sometimes throw me into a mild depressive state that lasts around a week. When it's over I jokingly will say to myself that whatever there is that can suppress these states, I'll take it. Now Anna Moore unveils that Prozac is actualy used to keep hormonal mood swings under control. (Link via Boing Boing.) Suddenly I am confronted with a solution, but not very willing to take it. My mood swings aren't debilitating. I can still function properly, albeit a bit more grumpily and more prone to consider myself as worthless. All of this will go away eventualy. Every minor depressive state is one I have to face and muddle through. I find them annoying, aren't we entitled to have them every once in a while?
