More from the train
Apr. 13th, 2007 09:35 pmLocked up in a train you try to kill time. There's the reading. And the constant chattering of the passengers getting you out of your concentration. So you read little pieces – "stukjes" by Josse De Pauw. You marvel at his observation skills. You feel you're there with the Moroccon kids and the Flemish nationalists climbing in a bright yellow Ferrari. That won't start. You see the lads pushing. And waving. And grinning. Suddenly it's there: Laughter. Uncontrollable. In the metal container of the train to Paris you're shaking and grinning with soundless laughter till your cheeks hurt.
