Thanks to Bitch Ph.D. I have finaly been able to fathom the mystery of the marshmallow peep. It looks a lot like those foam-like Virgin Maries we'd get from Saint Nick and Black Pete. I always thought they tasted like sweetened polystyrene foam. At least we get chocolate eggs.

Wow. They are completely new to me. I much prefer chocolate eggs!

BTW, who brings your easter eggs? Apparently in France it's the churchbells, but we firmly believe in the Osterhase.

Actualy over here we have both the Paasklokken and Paashaas. The story actualy goes that the churchbells go to Rome (Silent Saturday!) to collect eggs and then fly back home laden with eggs, which they drop in the gardens for children to collect. The Easter Hare (never got that whole bunny thing) is in there somewhere too. I did assign him the role of making sure the eggs would be a bit hidden in the gardens, and not completely smashed. Ah, the logic of children. *g*

I think the rabbit, bunny, hare confusion stems from the fact that not many people actually know the difference between a rabbit and a hare. With the hare being an endangered species now, it's probably better to leave the job to the rabbits anyway.
