I've been reading PostSecret for months now (I bet even more than a year), and suddenly my newspaper discovers it and has started to endorse a Dutch version of the site called "Briefgeheimen". Every day a card ends up on the back of the newspaper. Unlike the little gems on the American version these postcards leave me stonecold. Is it really true that there is more mystery in these English cards, because really it isn't my lingo, and I simply misunderstand most of them?

I love PostSecret. It gets to me every time. I do not know the reasoning behind your feelings, but I have read many postcard sites and they are now even listing them in magazines and the like. I do not get the same feelings when I read the postcards in these other places. I don't know why it is, but I feel like there is something magical to PostSecret that you can't find elsewhere.

Yes, that's it: I do not get the same feelings when I read the postcards in these other places.

Maybe reading PostSecret is something magical. I have the feeling it also is something more real. When I read it somewhere else I have the feeling people just say something to get their card posted. Not on PostSecret. Those sound more sincere.

Of course that's only a subjective feeling that's not true...
