White fluff came falling from the air like someone shaking out her duvet. The little dots tried to compete with the sun, attacked the pavement. "Lie still, lie still," they whispered: "Don't move and you might just make it." But the snow flakes melted. Two or three seconds they had a short lived fluffy life and then they dissolved to water again.

Probably between three and four thousand people assemble near the American ambassy to protest against the visit of Mr. Bush. No I wasn't one of them. I had to work yesterday and – as P., my friend S. and myself put it – there is no reason to protest against the visit of Mr. Bush. Why shouldn't he come to Europe? It's nice of him to leave his American stronghold to see how things are done on the old continent. (It is less nice of him to bring his stronghold with him when he visits, but we can forgive him that: It's only for a couple of days.)
The socialist youth put stickers with the head of Bush on them in public toilets, so you literaly piss on the man. In the local media they told their initiative was a way of "protesting against the visit of Mr. Bush." Again I say: "Hmm, I don't get it..." What I do understand is that you protest against everything Mr. Bush stands for, but isn't it more efficient to go and stand in front of the American ambassy on an ordinary day, and not when there is a safety parameter around it of a couple of blocks of houses and Mr. Bush doesn't even see you?
