Or I seem to turn slowly into a Brit. Don't know which is more correct.

It's only true if you take my telly viewing habits into consideration. There are two shows I frequently watch for the moment: Manchild on Wednesdays and (since yesterday) Hustle on Fridays. There's also Frost on Mondays and Taggert on Saturdays. P. watches both of these and I catch an episode every now and then.
Something very odd is going on here as all these series are shown on one network. They've programmed Spooks before (which I devotedly watched), showed all the Morse-episodes twice or maybe even three times (Morse keeps on scoring in reruns) and in their Summer program we can also find Cold Feet (new season starting tonight) and Coupling. Really, I think it must be a case of buy 2, 3rd one for free.
Or, the local public television network has gotten a big check of Tony Blair and I'm only a few steps from uncovering a master plot for turning all the viewers into UK-citizens.

Talking about master plots: Yesterday I saw the pilot for Hustle and immediately I understood why my network would go for the "buy 2, get one free" kind of deal. This was very good television, locally only made once every five years -- when someone has found the money. We had slick, cunning men, a beautiful lady and blundering police men. Great camera angles established the group feel of the cast. The exposure of the different characters was neatly tied into the story.
On the other hand it might have been too neatly tied in. The plot moved to the background and all that was left was this great eye-candy full of exposure. There was just a bunch of characters that needed a background and the plot suddenly didn't seem to fit, didn't seem to be possible, believable. But then they did something wierd: The characters moved out of the frame and started talking straight to the camera, explaining their actions. There it hit me: This is supposed to be the feel of the episode. By giving us this catchy, cool and smooth imagery we identify ourselves with the bad guys. Oh, how I wanna be a bad guy now!! Seriously going to watch this next week, when we know the characters, and the excitement of the story will probably get more room.

P.S.: Does anyone know who the blonde guy is that plays Danny Blue in Hustle? He looked extremely familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on where I've seen him before.
Edit: Looked it up and read that Marc Warren also played Pvt. Albert Blithe in Band of Brothers.
