If you don't want to write it, you can always write about it.

peterwiggin has written this longish review of some new pilot for the American television set owners amongst us. The series is called Lost, and its premise fit into one sentence would be this: "Help, our plane has crashed and we're stuck on this island and I don't trust anybody." Okay, I flicked in the last bit, but you get the general idea. PW obviously put a lot of time and effort in his review and he made some interesting points, but I just couldn't dismiss the fact that this wasn't what I was looking for.
My brain decided it wanted to get to the bottom of this. I put my fingers down on the keyboard and they didn't want to leave before I had written almost 2000 words about what it is to be a critic and to be one on the internet nonetheless.
