Adorable little giant monkey
Nov. 10th, 2006 11:22 pmHalf an hour before "The End" hits the screen, I finaly give in to boredom. I can't cope anymore with more images of a giant monkey terrorising Manhattan and action scenes wherein everybody seems to die, except for the protagonists that keep coming out on top, without even the slightest scratch. Suspension of disbelief is a bit too far fetched on this one. The bad guy is as clumsy as hell, and just keeps surviving. The good guys even rescue him on several occasions. Although the CGI is as good as it gets, I keep having visions of actors pretending being bitten by dinosaur-like creatures in front of the green key. I wonder if pretense is difficult, but have to realise is isn't really: I've been pretending I enjoyed this film for more than two hours. Now I give up. I don't care if Kong lives, or Ann, or that writer – what's-his-name. Probably the villain will survive. He's the kind of person that always finds a way out of each predicament, and turn it into benefit. Maybe the added bonus of hobbits and elves would have rescued Peter Jackson's King Kong in my eyes.
