The video under the cut is one I nicked from danah boyd. She posted it on YouTube after finding it on Boing Boing. I hope she lets me kindly repost it here.

What is featured is a Dove campaign in which a perfectly bland model is turned into a postergirl. Remember girls and boys: what you see in your glossy magazine is not the "truth".

I saw that too, and I've been posting it here and there. It's very thought-provoking, and I quite like the music as well.

Well, I knew these things, having a sister and a bf that are both photographers. I've got some stunning pictures of myself as well, and this without photoshop or a make-up artist, but only because of good lighting and a good eye.

It also goes to show that what we consider beautiful is always an exageration of reality. Wasn't this something said by Desmond Morris?
