Inadequate
Oct. 4th, 2006 07:23 pmWhenever I see miss Roman-Catholic* I tend to feel inadequate. In everything she does, she is my senior, except in years. She is aware of what goes on the school, knows what she's talking about when The Head starts using universalising terms in the conversation. In brief: she sounds like she is indispensable, whereas I am easily discarded. I felt bad about it, wandering through the day like a chicken whose head is lieing on the floor somewhere. Buying a scarve didn't work either. I doubted my purchase, and felt even more inadequate because of it.
So what does a good girl do, to drive the blues away? She stands in the kitchen and makes herself some banana-chocolate muffins. Nothing gets rid of envy like doing something you're good at.

*The one with the big behind. There's a second miss Roman-Catholic with a somewhat smaller behind.

Date: 2006-10-04 05:51 pm (UTC)I work with incredibly smart and talented people from all over the world, and I'm pretty young for the job I'm doing. I learned it's important when you say sth, to believe that it matters. If you don't; they don't even if it's something relevant and intelligent.
Also some power dressing never hurts. I know it sucks, but that's just how it is.
Anyway, feel free to ignore my advice, which I realise you didn't ask for, hope you feel better! Chocolate can be magic that way;
