Ooh, I'm totaly digging the new tracking possibilities of LJ. I log in, and underneath my username it says "Messages (1)". I click on the link, and lo and behold: I can read what others have said on my LJ, or on an interesting post I'm following the comments of. That's one more thing to not want to leave LJ-land, and dive into the scary depths of having a blog on my own webpage.

Yeah, it's kind of cool when you've got messages.

I played around with it yesterday and had the messages delivered by email but I found that was a bit much. I switched that off again.

I had them deliver by email as well, but thought the better of it eventualy. Like you say: it's a bit too much. Although I don't have many things in my messages just yet. Stuff that's still on my flist gets checked there without me bothering to add it into my notifications when I reply on something.

And I log into LJ more frequently than gmail, so I probably chacked the messages here first. I think it's easy for someone who reads LJ through a newsreader or something, or when you've got a blackberry to check email. I don't know... I've never used the notifications through email before this either. I just like the fact I don't have to run around from post to post when I'm following a discussion. (This doesn't happen too often though, but when it does, it's very neat. An I immediately see when someone's replied to my LJ.)
