Life has shown itself from its more merciless side, not so much to me, but sometimes one worries about the lives of others. Reading didn't work to get my mind off things. I decided to get my hands dirty, and dug my nails into the earth. I've planted herbs I'd sown several weeks ago. I tore out the littlest seedlings, so the big ones could grow. I watered and weeded. I got earth stuck underneath long fingernails. And for a moment I wasn't restless.
