Earbud Sample

Wearing my white earbuds to school, I tend to spot the other earbuds that frequent bus, tram and underground. This completely random and unstandardised sample has learned me the following: (1) white earbuds are a thing for the working man or woman, aged above 22, or the extremely hip teenager; (2) earbuds aren't that prevalent as one might assume from media coverage – there's at least one other pair on every bus I take, but it's not like half of the bus is listening to music only they can hear*; (3) teenagers usually go for the cheapo mp3-player, that looks as badly beaten as their phone, but won't be replaced until they get the money for their next birthday/Christmas/New Year's.

*Half of the bus do tend to yammer on their phones, though.
