Performance & Communication
May. 4th, 2004 09:15 amThere's a theatre festival in Brussels, so I need to see as much as I can (or as my budget allows). Yesterday I went to New Game, by Edit Kaldor. It was good and innovative, but I had the feeling I missed something. It was entertaining, but it wasn't "wow, this is great". I don't know. When I left I had the feeling I did the performance wrong by proclaiming I missed something. Visually it was very appealing: humans walking in a computer animated world. It worked. And still... Somewhere I had the feeling the performance pretended to be something it wasn't.
I'd better write a review about this performnce, but I don't know if I'll have the time. It's where the "communication" comes in. I have to work on papers. The assignment is rather dull: read two articles and make a summary. And don't forget to give a critical reply. Reading an article is what I have to do today. And preparing classes for tomorrow.
