MK's stopgap
Jun. 16th, 2006 05:46 pmMK is getting really talkative these days. Although Frances is too difficult (must be the combination of the F and the R at the beginning), she's starting to get her words out. She says "Hand", when I've got to take her hand when we go down a flight of steps. "Bumba" is her favourite television friend. And "Nana" is her friend at daycare. In between all the mumbling and chattering one word stands out: "Amai!" she shouts when I do something special or just plain weird. Which means she shouts it every three minutes. When you're only 22 months everything in the world is special or just plain weird. What's most fascinating is not the fact she says it, but the way she pronounces the word. I can hear my own Papa every time I hear MK. I think I know where she picked that word up.
