It doesn't happen too often that a soprano can sing a male part, but I'm doing that since Monday. I'm singing Oscar, page of Ricardo, King of Sweden, in Giuseppe Verdi's Un Ballo In Maschera. For those of you familiar with this opera: it's the aria entitled Saper vorreste, and it goes as high as the high B. I hope to be able to sing that particular note without difficulty within a couple of months.

I've just downloaded some Verdi for my iPod... but not Saper vorreste. I will do so forthwith, just to listen to what you're going to be belting out!

I so envy you, having a voice that isn't a fog horn like mine.

Good luck with the high notes!

Belting is the proper word, I think. My voice doesn't sound like a foghorn, but I'll never call it nice like most people do! I just enjoy to sing.
