But I did have a piano watching my back when I sang. The exam went quite well and the jury was pleased enough to reward me with 87 points. Some other singers complimented my voice, and that's always a plus. I, on the other hand, accepted those compliments with a shrug and my built-in shyness. I'll never get used to it.

Well, I've got regular classes again next week and then I go a year up in September. I can study 6 more years before I "graduate". (It's not really graduating, but you can only do certain grades, and then it's really "What do I do next to keep up with singing?")

I enjoy the compliments! But I'm just so very shy when people give them. I just shrug and say "yeah, whatever", but inside I go "yesyesyes!" ;-)
I don't know what you are supposed to reply when someone says you've got a nice singing voice.

Oh, so it's about replying to compliments? That's really difficult to do in a graceful way. You can't say "Yeah, I know" or "No, it's not true", so usually a "Thank you" is quite enough, I think.
